Local Dallas builder Tim Jackson Custom Homes, in partnership with Operation FINALLY HOME, The Dallas Builders Association, LP Building Products and American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks is nearing the final stages of the custom-built, mortgage-free home being built for wounded combat veteran U.S. Army Sgt. Stephen Jackel and his family.
Sgt. Jackel was injured in an IED blast in August 2011 while on a convoy mission in Afghanistan. Following the blast, Jackel saved the lives of several soldiers by helping them out of the decimated vehicle while putting out flames with his amputated leg. His injuries included bilateral below the knee amputations and a traumatic brain injury. Jackel is married to Adriana and together they have six children.
